Connie Sue (Jones) Perry has become a household name across America.
Her talented voice and songwriting skills are a blessing to
everyone. "Aunt Connie" has become famous for her part in the
group 1 A Chord and the Texas Country Gospel Show seen nationally on
Gospel Music Television Network and on GMT's web site at
www.gmtn.info,
literally airing around the world.
Texas Country Gospel is a family entertainment show even being aired
in India now on the
Velugu Christian Television
Network.
Many
of the viewers have called or written and said that "Aunt Connie"
sounds like Kitty Wells or Loretta Lynn. Connie performs
weekly with 1 A Chord along with her brother, Jimmy Jones and her
niece, Mary Fay Jackson. Every week she has special requests
for at least one of her original songs.
Connie began singing in church at the age of twelve. She was
the church pianist
in her hometown of Gainesville, Texas for
thirty-five years.
She and her husband Joe Bert Perry raised
their four children in church singing for the Lord. They are
all still serving the Lord with their musical gifts. Pamela
works as an ordained chaplain in a correctional institution, Johnna
and Kristie are both Ministers' wives, and their son Kelly, plays
bass guitar for gospel groups. Both Pamela and Johnna have
brought the house down when they performed at the Jones Family
Theater. Connie and her family helped establish the Church of
Jesus Christ, an independent Pentecostal church, in Gainesville. Joe Bert Perry has retired from the Sante Fe Railroad after
thirty-five years.
Connie and Joe enjoy spending their
retirement with their ten grandchildren when they come to visit.
It was Connie's deep faith in the Lord that kept her singing and
writing songs for the Lord while suffering with cancer and then a
broken back.

Singing, songwriting and playing music seems to be this family's
heritage. Connie Perry's son, Kelly Perry, plays the bass guitar.

McLerran, sing as well. Sometimes Connie's three daughters are known
as "The Perry Trio". Connie Perry's grandchildren love to take the
stage starting as young as seven years of age.
